Just like in Sidney and Atlanta, there will be free condoms supplied at Beijin Olympic village for all athlets including Chinese, to have a ball.

Another difference is, unlike the Super Bowl winner, the winner of the 110m hurdles is an individual honor (other then the country he represent), therefore one would willing to sacrifice a bit more to be prepared - I supposed, because one would have nobody to share the shame and agony of defeat after lost!

Further more, this is track and field, and 110m hurdles is no Micky mouse event. And there has not been one Asian male (other than himself) could ever before steal the spotlight on track events traditionally dominated by Europeans and Americans.

I go along with Miss Juni Shen's idea to allow Xian Liu to have a tender moment every weekend.
Anonymous | January 24, 2008 06:15 PM
And if Liu Xian, or the Chinese government officials, go along with Juni Shen's and the above poster's suggestion, then China's gold medal count is probably the same as taiwan --- a big fat ZERO !!!

Feel no sorry for liu xian.
One must find one's most suitable way.

Consider this an event held once every 4 years, and once-in-a-life-time opportunity for most of the athletes, not to mention the honor of representing your own country, is it 200 days still "too long"? And if so, then that is why Liu Xian is Liu Xian, and you are...just an "Anonymous" (see the difference?)! Sacrifice do payoff, isn't it?

All right..all right..
First thing first. I bet you a dollar that Giants will win the Superbowl because its quarterback Eli Manning is practicing abstention from sex while Patriots' Tom Brady isn't.
Liu Xian will break the 110-meter hurdle record, because he will have saved up all of his testosterone for a 12 second burst.

Taiwan is a prooving ground for the 3 Principles of People. Under Ma Yin Joul and KMT's administration, Taiwan can only be better. Taiwan can really be a roll medel for China to follow.
The trouble is currently China has no daring party to shout at the Comminust Party, like DPP and KMT do to each other in Taiwan. Perhaps, there will be one or several parties when the western educated Chinese scholars and business men will have returned to help China reform.

How come Chen Suie Bien is everywhere, even in Ms. Juni Shen's article about tender moment and sport events?

One party, multiple parties , or whatever works - whichever give the Chinese people a better life, are all fine with every Chinese. But "shouting (or fighting) at each others" all day long? Thanks, but no thanks, and please make sure you keep that in taiwan and don't spread that crap around, you heard?! As for the "3 principal"? I must admit I don't know anything about it, however, I knew it didn't work very well in Mainland or taiwan, isn't it - otherwise, how in the world the KMT got their butts kicked in both places? Yes, now that the KMT are back to the throne in taiwan, but that is because the KMT have ah-bian and his cronies to thanks for - the taiwanese people just pick the lesser of two evils!

Talk about evil. Nobody is more evilish than a totalitarian. A harmonious society is achieved with compromising, not by one-track minded control.
China is shifting from a world factory to a world market. Living standards will become higher and people will demand more rights to life, liberty, and persuit of happiness.
Nothing is forever, KMT is improving. So will be DPP and CPC. Most of western nations are urging China to abandon communism and adopt democracy. And Change China will.

OK now lets get back to the subject of Liu Xian (NOT "Xian Liu", please!!! Btw, do you also refer “Mr. Ma” as “Yin-Jiu Ma”, Ah-Bian as “Shui-Bian Chen”, or what's-his-name as "Jie-Shi Jiang"???) Personally I would think, if one had the talent and opportunity which Liu has, and knowing what a gold medal will bring him & the country he represent, one will certainly do whatever is necessary to accomplish that. Just think of the those $,$$$,$$$,$$$ he will be making after winning the gold IN FRONT of hundreds of millions of his compatriots, in the biggest sports event ever held in China. And if you still have problem to comprehend or imagine of that, then just think of this as in the old time --- 剛中了狀元的衣錦還歸, 還有比這更美妙的嗎? Furthermore, Liu is young, after winning a gold in the Beijing Olympic he can have all his "tender moment" he wish to have, otherwise, there might not be any girl there for him to have with - and you know how practical (aka "materialistic") are those "Shanghai-nese" 【:)】 girls are nowadays, right?
Anonymous | January 26, 2008 04:55 PM
I absolutely agree - of the first two paragraphs. But what is "CPC" - did you mean CCP? Yes, they all will continue to improve, but that is because of the demands by the Chinese people, not because of the "urge" by those foreign nations - which I believe they are mostly up to something no good anyway.

London has been chosen to be the host city for the 2012 Olympics because the London Bridge is falling down. Beijin got it for the 2008 game because it needs lots of improvements.
The superstructures have nearly been done in spectacular fashions. Also, Beijin has been doing something to improve its image. Citizens of Beijin are being educated to observe fine rules and to behave in more civilized manners.
According to a study by the People's University of China, the incidents of littering, spitting, flaunting traffic rules and queue-jumping have all started to decline.

Hardwares and softwares are all being improved in Beijin. Restaurant names and manu are standardized, such as Quandude, Go Believe, stewed pork meat ball in brown sauce(previously called the red burned lion head),...etc.
After having experienced being the host of an international affair, China might want to streamline its government to fit into the trend of the 21st century.

"all is well that ends well" was the name of a play. But Shakespearean scholars could not determine whether it was a comedy or a tragedy. They said that Shakespeare wrote the play when he was crazy.
